BLUSH ACADEMY offers this exclusive one-year course for the individual who would like to specialize as a Make-up Artist and Special Effects artist (SFX-Make-up). This course is ideal for the individual who would like to work in the film industry. In addition to the standard units, learners will also participate in various Kryolan Education Programs during this course which will put them in high demand globally. Kryolan is present in more than 90 Countries worldwide and a Kryolan Certificate will put you a step above the rest.

Qualification:

After successful completion the following VTCT International Qualification will be earned, which are registered on the UK & European Qualification Framework:

• VTCT International Level 3 Diploma in Theatrical, Special Effects, Hair and Media Make-up

 

 

Course Units

• Apply airbrush make-up to the face

• Style and dress hair using a variety of techniques

• Create and cast small prosthetic pieces and bald caps

• Apply prosthetic pieces and bald caps

• 2D visual communication

• Apply make-up (day, evening, bridal & special occasion)

• Camouflage make-up

• Media make-up (film, theatre & special effects)

• Fashion and photographic make-up

• Design and apply Mehndi skin decoration

• Instruction on make-up application

• Design and apply face and body art

• Style and fit postiche

• Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon

• Client care and communication in beauty-related industries

 

 

Course Information

Requirements:  No matric certificate needed, but learners need to be 16 years of age

​

Course Starting date: February 2026

Class times: Monday – Friday;

Morning: 08:30 – 12:30

Afternoon: 13:00 – 17:00
